AL JOURGENSEN OF MINISTRY PHOTO EXHIBIT

WITHOUT-SYMPATHY-FLYER-3

WHO: Cleopatra Records and Lethal Amounts present an exhibit featuring the WAX TRAX! RECORDS archives of Brian Shanley. Documenting the progression of musical prodigy and revolutionary American Industrial music pioneer Al Jourgensen. Both AL Jourgensen and Brian Shanley will be in attendance for the opening day of this exhibit.

WHAT: The rise of Industrial music in America can be traced back to Chicago Wax Trax and Al Jourgensen being at the forefront, collaborating with numerous like-minded musicians pushing the extremes in the electronic genre. Together with Brian’s artistic eye, Wax Trax bold moves and Al Jourgensen’s innovative ideas they were able to influence a whole new generation of musicians and can still be seen in some of todays biggest artists.

The show encompasses a spectacularly sordid array of images depicting the evolution of this visionary artist from club days to major labor success. Brian Shanley, photographer and art director for the legendary record label is responsible for much of the iconic imagery. Included are original album art/layout, concept designs, cut and paste flyers, magazine clippings, promo glossies, and a selection of unearthed photographs dating from 1980-1990.
